Original Fine Art Ocean and Bay Scene of a Fishing Crabbing and Mooring Pier, located off of Route 9 in Delaware. "A Special Place" shows an small fishing, crabbing, and mooring pier on a small tributary to the Delaware Bay. These small piers line the creeks and streams that feed the Delaware Bay. In the summer working and pleasure boats are tied up to these little docks. During the winter they usually stand empty, with the exception of an occasional duck hunting boat that may be tied up during the hunting season. Artist's Comments: Old route 9 always has a sight to catch. I was traveling along route 9 with my friends . As Karen, Dean and I drove along the back roads taking in the sites. They told me how Dean would drop off the God children and Karen from his boat onto one of these little piers. Karen and the children would spend the afternoon fishing, crabbing and picnicking. Dean would come back later in the day and pick them up with their catch of the day, along with happy memories of a special place. "A Special Place" is a fond painting to me that touches my heart with my friends joy and it's peaceful beauty.
