Fine Art Ocean and Bay Scene of a Crab Boat Cherie

Fine art ocean and bay scene of a crab boat Cherie, in dry dock for repair.
"Crab Boat Cherie", depicts a old work boat that was pulled from the water for repair during the off season, located in a coastal town along the Delaware Bay.
These old work boats are worked very hard during the crabbing season. The watermen start their days before dawn and work till dark pulling their crab traps, sorting and grading their crabs. The boats are running all day so by seasons end they are in need of repair. These repairs are accomplished during the winter so the boats are ready for the start of the season in the spring.
Old work boats like this one can be found all along the Delaware Bay and along the eastern shore of Maryland up on blocks for the winter while their owners are making repairs and preparing for the next season. Available as original oil, Giclee prints, and eprints.
Artist's Comments: An old wooden crab boat, resting or retired needing repair, sits next to Sambo's Restaurant. This boat was a treat to paint because crab boats have a story to tell. Just by looking at them you can see how hard they battled the elements and the difficult work they put out daily, you can see their history and reminisce of their past.
