Exquisite Fine Art by June Wright
Hello, allow me to introduce myself, my name is June Wright. I am serious about my art and a disciplined painter since my childhood. I have always been interested in painting, and feel blessed having my father, Lewis E. Wright, as my oil painting teacher. In my childhood, my father introduced me to Walter T. Foster booklets on drawing and sketching. He also opened my eyes to many great painters. A few of these painters are: Howard Pyle, Eric Slone, Robert Wood, Norman Rockwell, Carolyn Blish, Currier and Ives, and the Wyeth Family. A few of my father's friends were painters, the late Howard Wimmer and Daniel Campbell, who were very supportive of my work. Throughout my life, my oil paintings have had the endless support of my family, my relatives and my friends.
My parents enrolled me in a class at the Museum of Art in Wilmington, Delaware at the age of 8. I attended Unionville High School, majored in art, and had the pleasure of working with many talented and creative classmates. My teacher was O'Dey. During my youth, my oil paintings were on display in Rodney Square, The Peoples Bank in Wilmington, Delaware, and in the Unionville High School Unionville, Pennsylvania.
Recently, I had the pleasure of attending shows with the painter Jack Wiberg, of Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. Jack is a relative and has provided advice on both my work and reintroducing myself to the shows in Delaware again. I have also been very fortunate to be acquainted with painter, Dennis Lee, who has taken time advising me on both my work and presentation of my work at shows.
For me, being a self taught oil painter, I enjoy the challenge of a light free hand sketch and then oils to complete the outcome I'm hoping to accomplish. I enjoy painting scenes and surroundings from around the Delaware Valley. My desire is to bring you happiness and joy from my paintings.
In closing, I have displayed my work at the Wilmington and Glasgow Schools, the DuPont Country Club, The Wallflower, the Greek Festival, Art on the Green, the Brandywine Arts Festival, Aztec (Fine Art Exhibit Show) in Wilmington and St. Peter's Church in Lewes, Delaware, Milton Sidewalk Art Show, Lewes Historical Society Fine Art Show, United Cerebral Palsy Art Show, Childrens Beach House in Lewes Delaware, Smyrna Opera House Art Show in Smyrna Delaware and the Grand Opera House, Art Loop Event in Wilmington Delaware. I am looking forward to bringing my paintings to you. I would like to thank you for your interest in my work and hope our path cross again.
